Can you follow a piston change to the favoured side?

A process-development vessel contains the gas equilibrium 2 R(g) ⇌ P(g). The vessel is sealed, and the reaction has reached equilibrium. A piston is moved inward to increase the pressure. Predict the direction of the equilibrium shift and the change in the relative amount of P. Explain your answer using Le Chatelier’s Principle.
