Marking points

  1. 1 Draws a single bond between the two backbone carbon atoms inside the polymer bracket.
  2. 2 Writes n after the bracketed repeating unit.

Why this answer loses marks

The student leaves a double bond in the polymer backbone and omits the repeat notation.

Addition polymerisation opens the alkene bond, and the completed repeating unit must be marked as repeating.
