Marking points

  1. 1 Adds Benedict's reagent / solution to the drink.
  2. 2 Heats the mixture appropriately (at least 60 °C if a temperature is specified).
  3. 3 Gives an accepted positive colour: green, yellow, orange, brown, or brick red.

Full-mark answer

Add Benedict's solution to the drink and heat the mixture in a hot water bath. A positive result changes to green, yellow, orange, brown or brick red.

Why this answer loses marks

Add Benedict's solution and warm the drink; it turns red.

“Warm” is too vague for the required treatment; state that the mixture is heated appropriately.
