Marking points

  1. 1 Identifies that a mass could fall off the spring.
  2. 2 Explains that the lower fall height reduces the risk of injury or damage.

Full-mark answer

A large mass could fall off the spring. On the floor it would fall through a smaller height than from a table, so it is less likely to cause injury or damage.

Why this answer loses marks

It is safer on the floor.

The hazard and the way the risk is reduced must be stated: a mass could fall, and the smaller fall height reduces injury or damage.
