Full-mark answer
Food supplies can be made more sustainable by producing more food locally. Figure 12a shows rooftop farming, which uses urban space and reduces food miles, lowering carbon emissions from transport. It may also improve food security for city residents. Figure 12b shows certified sustainable seafood; choosing fish from managed sources helps prevent overfishing so fish stocks can recover. Other methods include eating seasonal food and reducing waste so fewer resources are used for food that is thrown away.
Why this answer loses marks
Rooftop farms and sustainable fish are sustainable.
Examiner report Q04/05/06.5 notes many students described the resources without explaining how actions are more sustainable.
