Marking points
- 1 Identifies a safety purpose or relevant hazard in a human or physical geography enquiry.
- 2 Develops how completing the risk assessment reduced or managed the risk.
Full-mark answer
It was important to identify hazards before the fieldwork, such as fast-flowing water and slippery banks in a river enquiry, so we could choose safer sites and set controls such as staying away from deep water. This reduced the chance of an accident or injury while collecting data.
Why this answer loses marks
A risk assessment is important because the school requires it.
This does not identify a relevant fieldwork hazard, a control strategy or how planning reduces the chance of an accident or injury.
