Marking points

  1. 1 Identifies a relevant difference between Interpretation A and Interpretation B about immigrants.
  2. 2 Uses the content of Interpretation A accurately, such as its view of immigrants as criminals, undesirable, lawless, or communist threats.
  3. 3 Uses the content of Interpretation B accurately, such as its view of immigrants as good citizens, hard workers, settled, or adapted to American society.
  4. 4 Develops the comparison with explanation rather than listing separate features.

Full-mark answer

Interpretation B differs because it presents immigrants as useful and loyal members of American society, saying they are good citizens, work hard and have adapted to American life. Interpretation A is hostile and says immigrants are criminals and undesirable people who do not respect American laws and may replace American values with Communism.

Why this answer loses marks

Interpretation A is against immigrants because it says they are criminals.

This only uses one interpretation, so it does not prove how B differs from A.
