Clashes between different generations
Section A part a. Extract 1 is moments after the Inspector leaves the Birling house. Extract 2 shows Shaz, Kabir and Zara outside school discussing homework and adults' criticisms of youth.
Compare how clashes between different generations are presented in these two extracts. You should consider: the situations and experiences faced by the characters; how the characters react to these situations and experiences; how language and dramatic features create effects.

Full-mark answer
A strong answer would compare Priestley's serious family conflict with Gupta's comic presentation of pupils mocking adult criticism, analysing stage directions, repeated turns, tone, hyperbole and bathos.
Why this answer loses marks
Older and younger people disagree in both extracts.
This names the clash but misses how dramatic methods create different tones of conflict.
