Marking points

  1. 1 Compares Tommy's and Hannigan's school problems.
  2. 2 Explains support or isolation in each extract.
  3. 3 Analyses language, imagery, narrative voice or structure.

Why this answer loses marks

Tommy has problems at school and Hannigan dislikes school.

This flattens Hannigan's struggle and misses the contrast between isolation, support and the writers' methods.
